Floreant started its journey in 2008 when Dennys Restaurant in Oneonta, New York hired our team for upgrading their POS system. In 2009 the project completed and it opened its source code in the public domain. In 2010 the software included support for more devices through Java POS and added features for fine dine in like shift-wise pricing, partial payment, and kitchen chits. Floreant received extreme appreciation since its release of v1.2. To handle the massive number of downloads we hosted binaries in multiple sites like download.com, ZDNet and sf.net.
